TUITION FEES


The tuition fees for courses and programs vary depending primarily on the length of the course or program and the payment option chosen. For more information on the payment options that are available, please see the Payment Options section of our website.

Applied Spirit of Herbs

Holistic Herbal Studies Program Tuition Fees

This program costs $3,135.00 when paid in full, or $3,300.00 when paid by course.


Traditional Herbalist Program Tuition Fees


Traditional Herbalist, Level 1a
This level of the program costs $3,937.75 when paid in full, or $4,145.04 when paid by monthly installments.

Traditional Herbalist, Level 1b
All of the Traditional Herbalist, Level 1b courses are offered by George Brown College or from other colleges online through Ontario Learn. Students must register for each course directly with George Brown College or Ontario Learn. Links to the information regarding tuition fees and registration for individual courses are available in the Scheduling section of our website. The fees for individual courses vary from year to year and based on whether they are taken from George Brown College or through Ontario Learn. The approximate total cost for all Level 1b courses is $1,500-1,700 depending on the course options chosen by each individual student.

Traditional Herbalist, Level 2a
This level of the program costs $2,805.83 when paid in full, or $2,953.56 when paid by monthly installments.

Traditional Herbalist, Level 2b
All of the Traditional Herbalist, Level 1b courses are offered by George Brown College or from other colleges online through Ontario Learn. Students must register for each course directly with George Brown College or Ontario Learn. Links to the information regarding tuition fees and registration for individual courses are available in the Scheduling section of our website. The fees for individual courses vary from year to year and based on whether they are taken from George Brown College or through Ontario Learn. The approximate total cost for all Level 2b courses is $900-1,000 depending on the course options chosen by each individual student.

Traditional Herbalist, Level 3
This level of the program costs $3,664.63 when paid in full, or $3,857.48 when paid by monthly installments.


Payments

Payments may be made by cash or cheque. All cheques are payable to Living Earth School. A $15 administrative fee will be charged for any NSF or dishonored cheques issued to the School.


Tuition Tax Credits

Living Earth School of Herbalism is certified by Human Resources Development Canada. Tuition fees that collectively exceed $100 for courses and/or programs providing students with sufficient skills to enable them to work in, or to improve their skills in a recognized occupation are eligible for a tuition tax credit under Sections 118.5 and 118.6 of the Income Tax Act. This tax credit does not include the cost of textbooks and materials.


Textbooks, Equipment and Materials

There are required textbooks for many courses. A couple of courses require students to purchase equipment and/or materials. The cost of textbooks, equipment and materials is not included in the tuition fees. In most cases these will be provided by Living Earth at an additional cost (usually at a 15% discount off of the suggested retail price).


Deposits

All course and program deposits are non-refundable.


Refunds

General Interest Course Refunds
General interest students who are unable to complete a course may be eligible for a full or partial refund for the tuition fee for the course. To be eligible for a refund, students must notify the program director of their intention to withdraw from the course before the third class. Students who withdraw from a course by the end of the first class are entitled to a full refund for the course, minus the deposit for the course. Students who withdraw after the first class but before the third class are entitled to a refund of 50% of the tuition for the course. Students who withdraw from the third class onwards are not entitled to a refund.

'The Spirit of Herbs' Course Refunds
The above general interest course refund policy does not apply to ‘The Spirit of Herbs.’ To be eligible for a refund for this course, students must notify the program director of their intention to withdraw from the course before June 30. Students who withdraw from the course before May 31 are entitled to a full refund for the course, minus their deposit. Students who withdraw from June 1 to June 30 are entitled to a refund of 50% of the tuition for the course. Students who withdraw after June 30 are not entitled to a refund.

Holistic Herbal Studies Program Refunds
Students enrolled in the Holistic Herbal Studies program that have paid for the program in full who wish to withdraw from the program must provide a written notice of program withdrawal to the program director. Students who withdraw from the program are financially responsible for payment of the tuition for all courses that they have attended up to the end of the course that they are attending at the time that they withdraw from the program at the course-by-course payment rate, and a $50 deposit for each course that they have not yet attended. Any additional tuition fees that have been paid will be refunded.

Traditional Herbalist Program Refunds
Students enrolled in the Traditional Herbalist program who wish to withdraw from the program must provide a written notice of program withdrawal to the program director.

Students who are paying their tuition in yearly installments are financially responsible for payment of the tuition for all courses that they have attended up to the end of the course that they are attending at the time they withdraw from the program at the monthly installment rate, plus the $500 program deposit. If this amount is less than their yearly tuition fee, the remainder will be refunded.

Students who are paying their tuition in monthly installments are financially responsible for all monthly payments up to the end of the course that they are attending at the time they withdraw from the program, plus the $500 program deposit. Any additional post-dated monthly cheques will be returned to the student.
